Notes on Ranks & Positions
Merits
The “#” column represents the number of merits required to achieve the rank prior to meeting the time in service requirements. Please note that all soldiers must work up the chain from one rank to the next. Where there is an “X” mark that is an inaccessible position, to which, a prerequisite with the Charge of Quarters is required. If an “X” blocks the next rank up, you can no longer use merits to gain rank without speaking to the Charge of Quarters regarding new assignment in which a higher rank would be required. Also note, that upon each rank gained due to merits, however many merits required for rank will be subtracted from your total. Therefore, to reach E5 Sergeant from E2 Private, you will need much more than 8 merits. In fact, a total of 24 merits are required in order to accomplish a move like that. It is very much possible to receive the highest rank in your section within your first three months; with that, increase your opportunities at higher positions within the clan.

Rank Revocation
As a form of disciplinary action, a soldier’s rank may be stripped from him/her all the way to E1 Private Trainee. This form of punishment is only authorized by the Commander.
